School Attendance

Punctuality and regular attendance are not only essential in order that a child may learn to live in society, but are also necessary to ensure a child’s good progress at school.  Attendance at school is compulsory.  If your child is absent please ring the school office in the morning to let the school know the reason.  If no call has been received by 9.30.am then the school will contact you.  This is all the more important as the government requires all schools to monitor all unexplained absences, so it is vital that school knows why your child is absent.

If annual family holidays have to be taken during term time (maximum of ten school days), it is important for parents to understand that the Head alone has the authority to authorise absence.  If you find that this is the only option for your family please ask for a Leave of Absence Form prior to booking your holiday, available from the office.
