Spring Term 2011

Spring Term 2011- Class 2

English and Communication:

During the first half of the spring term, children in class 2 will be studying Myths and legends. We will focus on recognising the key aspects of a myth by predicting and anticipating actions from the main characters.

Children will develop their ability to discuss as they work collaboratively in paired, group and whole class contexts.

We will also focus on empathy, as writing and listening to stories will help children to understand what others might be feeling in a particular situation.

In the second part of the term, children will be undertaking a Performance and Play Script study. This will lead us to our class play, which will be announced nearer the time.

Modern Foreign Language:

The children will be continuing to study French as their MFL. They will be recapping counting and months of the year. We will also be learning how to say each day of the week in addition to our birthdays in French.

The children will also be working on puppets to accompany our myths and legends work in English.
